GOP Lawmaker Favoring Tech Crackdown Urged to Consider FTC Post

Republican Representative Ken Buck of Colorado is being urged by colleagues and advocates to become a contender for one of the two open Republican seats on the US Federal Trade Commission, according to three people familiar with the matter.

Buck said in an interview that he hasn’t “pursued the job in any way,” but confirmed senators and allies have pushed him to jump into the fray. “I think it’s a very interesting job and I think it’s a very important job, but it’s not where I am right now.”
