Racketeering claims against Global Tel*Link Corp., Securus Technologies LLC, and 3Cinteractive Corp. have been revived by the Fourth Circuit .
The plaintiffs allege a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations scheme that first required the companies to deceive government entities to obtain contracts, leading to their own independent injuries, the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit said. That’s sufficiently close to meet RICO’s proximate causation requirement under Supreme Court precedent, it said.
The plaintiffs also allege price fixing in violation of the Sherman Act.
