House Republican Says Hegseth’s D-Day Remarks ‘Inappropriate’

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s D-Day anniversary remarks criticizing what he deemed an immigrant invasion in Europe were “inappropriate,” House Republican Michael McCaul said Sunday.

“There’s a time and a place for these issues of immigration. That was not the day, not the anniversary D-Day,” McCaul, former chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said on ABC’s This Week.
