Ball Corp. Plant Workers’ $2.45 Million OT, Breaks Deal Approved

A $2.45 million settlement between Ball Metal Beverage Container Corp. and more than 200 employees who alleged various California wage and breaks violations received preliminary approval from a federal judge in Sacramento .

The class members will split about $1.57 million, and class counsel will get $816,660 in attorneys’ fees and up to $16,000 for expenses under the deal’s terms.

The settlement also allocates $30,000 total in service awards to the four named plaintiffs, plus $15,000 for settlement costs and $20,000 in penalties under California’s Private Attorneys General Act.
