A federal district court in New York denied private elementary school Bais Yaakov Dray Meir’s motion to dismiss a terminated secretary’s claims of failure to promptly pay and retaliation under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the New York Labor Law. She alleged that the school missed payments on multiple occasions without any legitimate business reason and terminated her, withheld her outstanding wages, threatened her family’s future within her religious community, and caused her to suffer economic harm in response to her lawsuit.
