Male Ex-Athletic Director Sues College in Virginia for Sex Bias

The former athletic director of Ferrum College filed suit in the Western District of Virginia alleging he was fired due to his advocacy for women’s sports, his age and his cancer diagnosis.

John Naff alleges Ferrum fired him in retaliation for voicing opposition to “the unequal treatment of men and women’s sports programs,” in violation of Title IX, according to the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia. Title IX bars sex discrimination in educational institutions.
