‘Accidental Americans’ Sue SocGen, ING Online Banking Units

Online banks including Societe Generale SA unit Boursorama and a French unit of ING Groep NV were sued by French-U.S. dual nationals over accusations they are being discriminated against because of their American citizenship.

The suit was filed March 27 with the Paris prosecutor on behalf of 306 so-called “Accidental Americans,” who have been caught up in a U.S. law meant to combat tax fraud but has ensnared many U.S. citizens living overseas.
