Australian tax authorities have a warning for companies: Just because we lost a big court case over intercompany pricing, don’t think you can take advantage of the situation.

The Australian Taxation Office said late last month that it intended to keep enforcing its transfer-pricing rules just as strictly in the wake of its loss in a high-profile legal dispute with mining group Glencore. The office had contended that Glencore underpaid its taxes by tens of millions of dollars because its pricing for internal transactions was too low, but Australian courts sided with the company.
