Austria is moving forward with a proposal to tax the digital advertising revenue of tech giants, with a vote by the National Council planned for Sept. 25.
The government introduced plans in April for a 5% tax on companies such as Alphabet Inc.'s Google and Facebook Inc. The proposal also includes measures to boost value-added tax collection from online third-party platforms.
