Belgium Parliament Considers Bill to Introduce Tax Relief Measures Due to Coronavirus

The Belgian Chamber of Representatives March 16 accepted for consideration Bill No. 55K1851001, to introduce temporary tax relief measures due to the coronavirus pandemic. The bill includes measures to: 1) further extend to June 30 from March 31 the 6 percent reduced VAT rate for masks and hydroalcoholic gels, and the 15 percent withholding tax reduction, under the temporary unemployment regime; 2) provide tax credits of up to 100,000 euros (US$118,981) for eligible small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from Jan. 1 through Aug. 31; 3) reduce taxes by 30 percent for landlords on uncollected rent for March, April, and May; ...
