Biden’s Reshaped Treasury Tax Office Signals Global Focus

The Biden Treasury Department has reconfigured its Office of Tax Policy, in an effort to address growing needs—especially on the international tax front.

The changes include two new deputy assistant secretaries—one for domestic business tax and the other for multilateral tax. The first was assigned to Tom West, who until recently worked at KPMG LLP and also previously served as tax legislative counsel at Treasury. The administration selected Georgetown Law professor Itai Grinberg for the second.
