Canada’s Tax Court to Resume In-Person Hearings July 20

June 18, 2020, 2:55 PM

Canada’s main tribunal for tax disputes will begin holding in-person hearings on July 20 for cases disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.

  • The Tax Court of Canada will start contacting parties in order of priority to schedule the new hearings, Chief Justice Eugene Rossiter said in a notice on the court’s website, dated June 17.
  • The new dates will be for hearings interrupted in March or for general appeals that were adjourned in March and April, the notice says.
  • The court will release new details in coming days on a return to regular operations, suspension of timelines, and other matters, Rossiter said.
