Digital Transactions Face Tax Under Bill Advancing in Kenya

Kenya’s proposed 1.5% tax on the value of online transactions is sailing smoothly ahead in Parliament.

“This is a minimal tax to start with,” said Joseph Kirui Limo, chairman of the Finance and Planning Committee of Kenya’s National Assembly.The measure passed a second reading of the Finance Bill in Parliament Thursday with little objections.
