EU Court Sides With Finland in Estonia Tax Claim Fight

Estonian courts must help Finland secure tax claims against an Estonian company, provided the claims don’t conflict with Estonian law and administrative practices, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled Wednesday

The court’s ruling, which interprets Council Directive 2010/24/EU concerning mutual assistance for the recovery of claims relating to taxes, duties, and other measures, is final and binding for all courts within the European Union. The directive helps facilitate the recovery of tax claims between member countries of the European Union.
