EU Prepares to Levy Digital Taxes But Asks for Feedback First

The European Union is calling for comments on its plans to introduce a bloc-wide tax on the digital revenue of tech giants.

The OECD is currently leading an effort to get 137 countries to agree to a plan to revamp how the digital economy is taxed. If that effort fails, EU leaders have said the bloc will pursue its own digital tax measure to generate revenue for the EU budget.
