The European Commission repeated its support for adopting a 15% minimum tax this year as some EU countries raise concerns about timing.
The OECD-led deal to overhaul global tax rules—backed by 137 countries in October—set a 2023 deadline to implement the plan. The Commission last month released a directive outlining how bloc members should adopt the 15% rate—a key part of the deal known as Pillar Two. The Commission wants to reach agreement on the directive by the end of June.
