EU to Help Member States Use Tax Data From Automatic Exchange

The European Commission is working on ways to help member countries use the tax information they receive automatically under the bloc’s transparency directive.

“Enhanced administrative cooperation allows member states to obtain information on their resident taxpayers which they need to ensure the proper taxes due,” Reinhard Biebel, deputy head of the commission’s corporate tax transparency unit, said Tuesday at an International Fiscal Association webinar.
