Ex-China Minister Calls For More Policy Certainty After Rout

China’s former commerce minister called for greater predictability in government policies to preserve foreign investment in the country following the sudden regulatory clampdown on private education that roiled financial markets.

Favorable tax and land policies have reached their limits and shouldn’t be used as the main tools to attract foreign investment anymore, Chen Deming, who was China’s commerce minister from 2007 to 2013, said at a forum in Beijing on Friday.
