France Backs Revamp of EU Tax Watchdog, But Sets No Timeline (1)

French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire signaled support Tuesday for a new push to revamp the EU business taxation group that draws up the bloc’s tax haven list.

Le Maire, speaking to the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, said he was in favor of updating the mandate of the so-called Code of Conduct Group (Business Taxation), and “anything that will take us in that direction will have our support.”
