G-20 Says Will Stand Behind OECD Digital Tax Talks Into 2021

G-20 finance ministers still support the OECD’s efforts to find global agreement on a digital tax overhaul by mid-2021, after negotiators missed a 2020 deadline for consensus, the group said in a statement.

Ministers from the Group of 20 nations said they welcomed the work by nearly 140 countries, in the statement released Wednesday.

“Building on this solid basis, we remain committed to further progress on both pillars and urge the G20/OECD Inclusive Framework on BEPS to address the remaining issues with a view to reaching a global and consensus-based solution by mid-2021,” the G-20 statement said.
