Germany trimmed its projections for tax revenue this year and next, while raising them for subsequent years as Europe’s biggest economy gradually recovers from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Tax income across all tiers of government is seen at 773.5 billion euros ($938 billion) in 2021, 2.7 billion euros less than expected in November, according to the latest estimates published Wednesday by the Finance Ministry.
In 2022, revenue is seen at 812.1 billion euros, 3.9 billion euros less than the November prediction. Beyond next year, income is expected to increase steadily, reaching 917.5 billion euros in 2025.
