India is processing intercompany pricing pacts involving the U.S. and other countries at a faster clip than ever before, churning out 52 pacts in the year ended March 31, tax authorities said.
Of the 52 deals India inked in 2018-19, 11 were bilateral advance pricing agreements (APAs), which involve foreign tax departments as well as companies, India’s Central Board of Direct Taxes said in an April 3 statement. That was the most India has negotiated in a single year. One APA signed in March involved U.S. tax officials, along with others for Australia and the Netherlands.
