Italy Lower House Considers Bill to Amend Individual Income Tax, Excise Tax

The Italian Chamber of Deputies Oct. 13 considered Bill No. 3296, to amend the individual income tax and the excise tax for qualified individual taxpayer expense deductions. The bill includes measures to: 1) provide an increased deduction of 30 percent from 19 percent for expenditures incurred, up to a maximum of 15,000 euros (US$17,399), for personal care worker staff; 2) exclude specified workers from the payment of individual income taxes; and 3) increase excise tax rates for alcohol and ethyl alcohol products.
