Netherlands Tax Agency Announces Further Extension of Tax Relief Measures Due to Coronavirus

The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration May 27 announced the further extension to Oct. 1 from July 1 for tax relief measures due to the coronavirus pandemic. The further extension applies to: 1) the relaxation of administrative obligations on payroll taxes; 2) tax-free travel allowances; 3) a zero-rate VAT for face masks, vaccines, and testing kits; 4) VAT exemptions on healthcare loans; and 5) the tax exemption on German social security benefits. The agency clarified that the special payment deferment plan isn’t extended, and ends July 1. [Netherlands, Tax and Customs Administration, 05/27/21]
