OECD Eyes October for Political Agreement on Digital Tax Plan

The OECD is working to bridge “divergent” views on how its digital tax plan should be implemented, and will release blueprints of both portions of the plan by October, the group said in a report to the G20 Saturday.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is working to get nearly 140 countries to agree to overhaul global tax rules and agreements to address how big technology companies are taxed. Failure of the project would spur more countries to turn to unilateral digital taxes, heightening existing trade tensions with the U.S.
