OECD Gig Economy Tax Reporting Rules May Expand to Match EU’s

OECD model guidance for countries requiring tax reporting from gig economy platforms could be expanded to match similar EU rules, a Dutch tax official said Thursday.

The move could mean gig companies will face more reporting requirements related to the sale of goods in countries that implement the OECD’s guidance.

European Union finance ministers last month agreed to update tax reporting rules under the directive known as DAC7, which would require online platforms to report information on the revenue of sellers operating via their platforms.
