Philippines’ House Approves Bill Taxing Digital Transactions

The Philippines’ House of Representatives approved a bill that will impose a 12% value added tax on all digital transactions, it says in a statement.

  • Digital service providers like Facebook, Netflix and Amazon are required to collect and remit VAT for transactions on their platforms, according to the bill, which be sent to the Senate for approval
