Polish Objection Further Delays EU Minimum Tax Directive (3)

Poland on Tuesday held up agreement among European Union finance ministers on rules for implementing the 15% global minimum tax on corporate profits.

Poland’s effective veto is a headache for France, which holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU, the forum in which EU governments meet. France had wanted to agree on EU minimum tax implementation by June 30, when its EU presidency ends. Under EU rules, the minimum tax rules can’t go ahead unless countries agree unanimously.
