Romania will extend a discount for companies that make quarterly profit tax payments on time through October.
- Companies now are eligible for a 10% discount for second- and third-quarter payments due July 25 and Oct. 25, according to an amended decree signed Thursday.
- The decree expands a temporary measure that gave large companies a 5% discount for first-quarter payments. Smaller companies received a 10% discount.
- The measure is designed to encourage companies to continue paying taxes through the coronavirus crisis, said Mihaela Popescu-Ichim, a director in corporate and international taxation at Deloitte Romania.
