Tax Executives Ask OECD to Narrow Scope of Global Overhaul

The OECD-led effort to rewrite global tax rules is too broad and would likely affect businesses that haven’t engaged in profit shifting, tax executives warned.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is working to get nearly 140 countries to agree by the end of the year to an overhaul of how the digital economy is taxed. The project is driven by concerns that multinational companies aren’t paying enough in taxes or in the right countries.
