Wealthy nations share the concerns of developing countries about giving up tax sovereignty in international negotiations over digital taxes, a senior Jamaican official said Wednesday.
“It is not clear from discussions that are ongoing whether developed countries are willing to give up their fiscal policy rights, certainly in terms of unilateral measures,” Marlene Nembhard Parker, chief counsel on international tax matters for the Jamaica tax administration, said during a webinar.
