The UN’s Tax Transparency Plan and What it Means for Multinationals

An influential United Nations panel recently laid out 14 objectives in a report on financial integrity for sustainable development that touched on a variety of topics from information sharing between governments to dispute resolution.

The report seeks a principled and global approach in response to issues in our world, including reforms to the arm’s-length principle, which is crucial for intra-group transactions.

However, it unfairly conflates the concepts of tax avoidance and/or aggressive tax planning with (illegal) tax evasion.
