In the past year, nearly a dozen nations have announced intentions to claw back revenue from tech companies doing business in their country, but without a physical presence there. In response, the U.S., where many of the tech companies are based, has opened trade investigations into 9 countries and the European Union. This video, featuring Bloomberg Tax’s Isabel Gottlieb, explains how digital taxes work and whether the international community can find a solution to this growing global rift over how to tax the digital economy.
