U.K. Loses Tax Dispute Against Scottish Power Company

The U.K. tax office lost a legal dispute with a Scotland-based power company over tax deductions it claimed for expenses related to the construction of a dam.

  • In a decision published Nov. 6, the Upper Tribunal Tax court allowed 200 million pounds ($258 million) of the 260 million pounds SSE Generation Ltd. claimed in deductions linked to the costs of plants and machinery that the tax office had denied.
