The UK Parliament’s Treasury Committee wants to know by March 23 why the government is closing the Office of Tax Simplification.
The OTS, established in 2010 to advise the government on making the tax system simpler, is due to close when the spring finance bill, due for release on March 23, is approved. The Committee asked Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt about how the Treasury will ensure that work to simplify tax legislation continues without the office.
