Vodafone Tax Arbitration Award Binding on India, Lawyers Say

The ruling of an arbitration tribunal under the India-Netherlands bilateral investment protection pact that says it is unfair for India to seek 200 billion rupees ($2.7 billion) in back taxes from Vodafone Group Plc will be binding on the south Asian nation, according to Souvik Ganguly, managing partner at Mumbai-based law firm Acuity Law.
