$62.4M Pro Soccer Stadium Incentives Clear Indiana Senate (1)

If Indianapolis developers can land a Major League Soccer franchise, they might also be able to score huge state and local tax breaks.

A bill (S.B. 7) that passed the Indiana Senate 49-1 Feb. 26 would provide incentives capped at $200 million over 25 years for a development that would house a 18,500-seat stadium for the Indy Eleven pro soccer team. However, because the incentives are based on state and local tax capture for the development site, the state estimates the team would likely receive between $45.5 million and $62.4 million—and that’s only if team owners can land...
