Alabama DOR Announces New Sales and Use Tax Rates in City of Chelsea

The Alabama Department of Revenue (DOR) Sept. 10 announced tax rate changes in City of Chelsea, effective Oct. 1. On Aug. 6, the governing body of the city adopted an ordinance levying a sales and use, leasing rental, excise tax, effective Oct. 15. The sales tax rates, including on admissions to places of amusement and entertainment increased to 5 percent. The rental tax general rate, and rates on automobiles and linen is 3 percent.
