Arkansas Appeals Office Finds Individual Income Tax Assessment Proper When Taxpayer Didn’t Report IRS Adjustment

The Arkansas Office of Hearings and Appeals (OHA) May 12 found Taxpayer failed to file an amended individual income tax return notifying the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) of an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) adjustment. The DFA made adjustments to Taxpayer’s state return as a result of a federal audit. Taxpayer protested, contending that she included two state return checks that she was unable to cash, which were expired.
