Arkansas Court of Appeals Affirms Denial of Public Purposes Property Tax Exemption

The Arkansas Court of Appeals Nov. 6 affirmed the circuit court’s denial of Taxpayer’s request for a public-use/public-ownership property tax exemption. Taxpayer was a statutorily created quasi-governmental entity that encompassed a residential neighborhood and recreational facilities. Taxpayer was assessed ad valorem taxes by Saline County, and filed a request to be declared tax exempt under the public-use/public-ownership exemption.
