Boosted Film and TV Tax Credit Bill Goes to California Governor

Tax credits for California’s homegrown film and television industry would expand under a bill lawmakers sent to Gov. Gavin Newsom Thursday.

The bill (S.B. 144) increases funding for recurring or relocating TV series, creates a new category of credit for sound stage construction, and requires credit applicants to provide plans for improving workforce diversity.
