California CDTFA Issues Annual Privacy Notice on Taxpayers’ Information

The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) Nov. 1 issued an annual privacy notice on sales and use and excise taxpayers’ information. The CDTFA asks for information when taxpayers apply for a permit, certificate, license or renewal, relief request, payment plan, offer in compromise, settlement, or other applications that are either required by law, or used for the CDTFA’s registration records. The CDTFA will use the information to determine whether taxpayers are paying the correct taxes and fees, or to collect any amounts taxpayers owe.
