California voters could decide in November 2020 whether to legalize sports betting under a new measure in the works.
Sacramento political consultant Russell Lowery filed the Gaming Fairness and Accountability Act with the California Attorney General June 11 after talking to sports leagues and gaming interests from California and other states, he told Bloomberg Tax. Lowery said he isn’t ready to disclose who is backing his efforts yet.
“I’m still putting the coalition together,” he said.
