Connecticut Lawmakers Opt for Corporate Taxes in $46.3B Budget

Connecticut lawmakers have approved a two-year, $46.3 billion budget that includes revenues from a highway use tax and from extended business taxes.

Both chambers approved the bill (H.B. 6689) on June 9, the Senate by 31 to 4 and the House 116 to 31. Gov. Ned Lamont (D), whose staff participated in negotiating the budget, said following the votes that he would sign it. The new fiscal year begins July 1.
