Connecticut Truck Tax Increase Set for Governor’s Signature

Connecticut would charge a higher tax on trucks, based on mileage and weight, starting in 2023, under a bill headed to Gov. Ned Lamont, who sought the increase.

  • The tax increase in the bill (H.B. 6688), ranging from 2.5 cents to 17.5 cents per mile, would bring in $90 million annually when fully in place, according to Lamont’s original budget proposal for it.
