Georgia DOR Announces Repeal, Replacement of Curbside Alcohol Pickup Regulations

The Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) Aug. 12 announced that it repealed and replaced the curbside alcohol pickup regulations for excise tax purposes. The new regulations align the penalties for violations of the curbside pickup rules with penalties for other alcohol violations. The new regulations allow: 1) package stores to provide their customers with curbside pickup services; 2) stores with curbside staging areas greater freedom in the placement of pick-up locations; and 3) individuals who are at least 21 to pick-up an order, even if another individual placed the order.
