Idaho Grape Growers, Wine Producers Commission Issues Temporary Regulations on Grape, Wine Tax

The Idaho Grape Growers and Wine Producers Commission July 21 issued temporary regulations governing the excise tax on grape growers and wine producers in the state. The temporary regulations include measures: 1) specifying the tax rates and a $100 minimum levy amount; 2) setting the June 30 due date for annual tax payments; and 3) requiring grape growers or wine producers who opt out of tax to send a letter to the commission by June 30 of each year, stating their name, address, and intent to opt out for the upcoming fiscal year.
