Indiana DOR Denies Taxpayer’s Protest Against Individual Income Tax Assessment, Finding Evidence Insufficient

The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) Aug. 23 denied Taxpayer’s protest of an individual income tax assessment. The DOR made the proposed assessment after finding that an outstanding liability should have offset a refund, and that Taxpayer failed to make an estimated payment she claimed on the return. Taxpayer argued that she was entitled to claim credits that were withholdings from her W2. She additionally argued that she could not obtain her W2 because her employer was no longer in business.
