Bipartisan property tax relief legislation streaked through the Iowa legislature and now heads to the desk of Gov. Kim Reynolds (R), who prioritized restructuring the property tax system in her budget proposal earlier this year.
The Republican-controlled legislature also passed a measure that will ask voters in November to impose limits on future personal and corporate income tax increases. Another bill permitting Iowa to regulate and tax prediction markets failed to get a final vote by the time the House and the Senate adjourned for the year on Sunday.
