IRS Floats Creating Taxpayer Experience Officer in New Report

The IRS is proposing a new division focused on change and innovation and hiring a new official to focus on taxpayer experiences, according to a report required by an agency reform law.

The 2019 Taxpayer First Act (Pub. L. 116-25) calls for the IRS to upgrade the taxpayer experience, improve employee training, and potentially reorganize. The report for Congress, released Monday, lays out recommendations for achieving those goals.
